Known Issues

The following is a list of issues known to exist at the time of Quest AttachThis 2.1 release.

Known Issue Defect ID
In a SharePoint document library, if the target SharePoint folder name contains the plus sign ("+"), the validation fails.
Note: This occurs on Windows Server 2008 systems only.
TF94538
Embedded attachments within an email in rich-text format are not processed in Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010. They will not be stripped from emails or posted to SharePoint. If the email is converted to HTML format, then attachments will be processed. TF105519
A document uploaded to SharePoint will be unavailable to email recipients if the Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited option is selected for a SharePoint document library where the document is located. It happens only if either Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 is used or the target SharePoint folder URL begins with https://.
Note: The document will become available after the user who uploaded the document performs check in.
TF171550
If you send an email in rich-text format from Outlook 2003 and select to upload email attachments to SharePoint, then embedded pictures will be stripped from the email. TF172052
If some of email attachments fail to be uploaded to SharePoint, and you cancel sending the email, the attachments that are successfully uploaded will remain in the target SharePoint folder. TF172694
If the Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages option is cleared in the Outlook 2003 settings, then Quest AttachThis will upload all embedded pictures from email in HTML format to SharePoint. TF172806
If the Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages option is cleared in the Outlook 2003 settings, then Quest AttachThis will display uploading errors while processing an email in rich-text format that contains embedded pictures. In this case, sending of the email will be cancelled. TF172807
If you send an email in rich-text format from Outlook 2003 and select to upload email attachments to SharePoint, then the email attachments will be moved to the beginning of the email replacing parts of text. TF172548
Email attachments blocked by Outlook are not processed by Quest AttachThis. TF172711
If the target SharePoint folder URL begins with http://, email recipients from the Readers group on SharePoint may not see an uploaded to SharePoint document. It happens if the document is located in the document library with versioning turned on, the document has just one version on SharePoint and the Only users that can edit items option is selected for the users who should see draft items in this document library.
To work around this issue, manually check in the document, or send it again with the Use unique name if the file exists on SharePoint option cleared in the Quest AttachThis options.
TF173554
If the target SharePoint folder URL begins with https://, email recipients from the Readers group on SharePoint may not see an uploaded to SharePoint document. It happens if the document is located in the document library with versioning turned on and the Only users that can edit items option is selected for the users who should see draft items in this document library.
To work around this issue, manually check in the document each time you send it, or avoid using the specified option for the document library.
TF173555
Quest AttachThis may not be enabled in Outlook, if the Apply macro security to add-ins option is selected in the Outlook 2007/2010 options (in Outlook 2003, the Trust all installed add-ins and templates option). TF173834
If a body of an email contains OLE objects, then Quest AttachThis may try to upload them to SharePoint along with regular email attachments. As a result, you may get the corresponding error message which, however, can be ignored. TF173835

To All Licensees, Distributors of Any Version of BSD:

As you know, certain of the Berkeley Software Distribution ("BSD") source code files require that further distributions of products containing all or portions of the software, acknowledge within their advertising materials that such products contain software developed by UC Berkeley and its contributors.

Specifically, the provision reads:

" * 3. All advertising materials mentioning features or use of this software * must display the following acknowledgement: * This product includes software developed by the University of * California, Berkeley and its contributors." Effective immediately, licensees and distributors are no longer required to include the acknowledgement within advertising materials. Accordingly, the foregoing paragraph of those BSD Unix files containing it is hereby deleted in its entirety.
